1. What is learner centered instruction (LCI)?

The LCI is a method in which the teacher focuses on the learner and haw learning happens. He/she creates a learning environment as similar as possible as the way learners acquire their first language, they participate in their learning process, set goals, choose strategies and evaluate their own process.

2. What is the main role of the teacher in LCI?

The teacher facilitates progress using students’ interests and needs; the teacher supports the learners by dedicating some class time to traditional activities, guiding them to develop their own learning.

3.    Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.

-       Learning is personalized

A better relationship between the learner and the teacher, a better learning;   It is important how confident the student is to facilitate the process.

-       Learning is competency-based

Students learn according to the abilities they have already got, they establish when and how to do it, depending on their needs and challenges.

-          Learning happens anytime, anywhere

Learning could happen not only inside a classroom or school area, it could happen at any time of their lives.

-          Students take ownership

They discover the importance of learning; make decision of their own success and understand that knowledge is theirs.
