Learner Centered Instruction is an element of the EFL curriculum. In this approach the student must be responsible for his/her own learning.

The teacher is a facilitator and the teacher must give opportunities to students in order that they develop their thinking skills and build their knowledge.

c.       Explain the 4 key principles of student centered learning.

1.       Learning is personalized: Teachers have to show interest in all the students by knowing them I mean the students’ background and how each one of them learn, having a strong relationship is possible to monitor their progress.

2.       Learning is competency-based: Teachers must let the students learn by their own pace not just following and completing the curriculum but allowing students master their skills.

3.       Learning happens anytime and anywhere: The learning process doesn´t finish in the school schedule instead the students must have useful and real information in order to apply in any situation in their life.

4.       Students take ownership: students must be involved in the learning process, it is necessary that we negotiate the topic, assessment, and methodology in order that the knowledge be retained.
